Here at Durweston, we are convinced of the benefits of Forest School. Taking school into the forest gives our children the chance to develop and learn through engagement with nature and the outdoors. It gives them the freedom to explore and builds their self-confidence, motivation and concentration. Through regular sessions in our local woodland, our children will become ambassadors for the environment. As they use tools and learn about the plants and animals that surround them, they will learn that the outdoors belongs to each and everyone of us and that it is something we should fight to preserve.
We are very grateful to Mr Hosford, our local farmer, for allowing us to use his land. We promise that we will take very good care of it.
